Scope

Byndele is a wealth management app developed over a comprehensive five-month project to design and quickly launch its MVP, with plans to expand and enhance the app and its features in later phases.


My Role

My responsibilities included conducting a brief primary research study to understand the target audience’s existing knowledge, preferences, and pain points. Based on these insights, I collaborated with my peer to design the app’s user flow, establish its basic style guidelines, and create the complete interface, ensuring a seamless and intuitive user experience.

About Byndele

Byndele, a fintech startup, focused on growing personal wealth by connecting users with vetted investment advisors and stock recommendations. The app is designed to make investing easy and accessible, providing both knowledge and expert suggestions to support informed investment decisions.

Byndele was aimed to encourage young people to start investing early without the stress of constant monitoring and management. The platform simplified the investment process, ensuring users can grow their wealth confidently and efficiently. Through various iterations, regular catch-ups, and feedback sessions, we developed the app design and established a design language.


Target Audience

The app was designed to engage a younger audience, particularly Gen Z, and encourage them to start investing early. This demographic was chosen because they have the benefit of time on their side, the potential to build a strong corpus and earn significant long-term returns by beginning their investment journey now.

Recognizing that many of them are first-time investors, the app aimed to provide not just a platform for investing but also the right guidance and learning support. It was built to simplify complex financial concepts, help users make informed decisions, and make the overall experience enjoyable, interactive, and stress-free rather than intimidating.

The Research

The research phase for the app was carried out in a few focused stages. With a limited timeline to design, develop, and launch the MVP, the approach had to be quick yet comprehensive, ensuring that key insights were gathered efficiently.

  1. Benchmarked competitors to understand their product offerings, user flows, and overall experience.

  2. Reviewed apps and websites aimed at younger and GenZ audiences to study their visual appeal and UI design approaches.

  3. Conducted primary research by speaking with classmates to gauge their interest, awareness, and attitudes toward wealth management and investing.

The Designs

The Byndele app was designed with a vibrant and dynamic look to appeal to a younger audience and make investing feel engaging and approachable. The visual language combines energy with simplicity, using bold yet brand-aligned colors, clean layouts, and playful illustrations to create a sense of excitement while maintaining clarity and trust.

The design strategy focused on ease of use, ensuring users could explore and invest with minimal effort. A clear visual hierarchy guided the eye naturally through important information, while concise navigation reduced unnecessary clicks. Thoughtful use of icons and color cues helped users quickly capture key insights, making the overall experience intuitive, efficient, and enjoyable.
